John Brubaker

Chief Executive Officer

John is an agribusiness and technology leader with a successful track record in both multinational and growth-phase businesses. Prior to joining Plant Impact as CEO in September 2011, he was Global Head of Business Development at Arysta LifeScience, a private-equity-sponsored agrochemical multinational – now a part of Platform Specialty Products (NYSE: PAH).  As a member of Arysta’s Global Operating Committee, he was responsible for strategic initiatives, global acquisitions and divestitures.  At Arysta John led the Group’s expansion in emerging markets, working with regional management and Arysta’s equity sponsors to drive initiatives and investments in South Africa, India, Mexico, Brazil and Russia.

Prior to his career in agriculture, John worked as a sales and marketing professional in the high-technology sector, delivering commercial growth and new product development for telecommunications, hosted software and passive-RFID technology businesses.  John holds a Bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a Master’s from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.  He is a United States citizen, now a full-time resident of the United Kingdom.

Richard Amos

Chief Financial Officer

Richard joined Plant Impact after holding a position as Group Finance Director at Anite plc from 2009 until its acquisition by Keysight Technologies in 2015. During Richard’s tenure, Anite grew to become an internationally successful technology group with operations in 14 countries in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East.  His role encompassed finance, investor relations, M&A, general counsel and the company secretariat as well as IT and HR.  Until its acquisition in August 2015 Anite was listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange.

Since his qualification as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young, Richard’s career has featured key Group Finance Director roles at growing, innovative and successful technology companies including Agilisys, Retail Decisions plc and VEGA Group plc. He holds an MA in Management Studies and Engineering from Downing College, Cambridge University.

Daryl Thomas

Senior Director, Global Marketing and Business Development

Daryl joined Plant Impact from Syngenta where he spent over 20 years. He lead a number of business units in both crop protection and seeds with turnover of up to $200m, as well as other senior commercial leadership positions. His last role with Syngenta was as Global Head of Commercial Excellence where he oversaw their commercial leverage programs in pricing, marketing, selling and forecasting. His key international experience is in growing profitable market share and leading strategic marketing activities.

Daryl is also a Chartered Accountant and a first class honours degree in Mathematics from the University College of North Wales.

Dr Steven Adams

Research and Development Director

Steve has a degree in Horticulture and a PhD from the University of Reading. For 12 years he was a Principle Investigator and Protected Crops Commodity Specialist at Warwick HRI (formerly Horticulture Research International), where he managed a team focusing on the physiology of glasshouse crops. The focus of his research was investigating and modelling how the aerial environment affects plant growth and development.

He has been a scientific adviser for AHDB Horticulture since 2003, and is a past Associate Editor of the Journal of Horticultural Science and Biotechnology. He has extensive experience of managing research projects, after leading numerous projects funded by DEFRA and AHDB. He holds the Rudolf Hermanns Foundation Award for outstanding achievements in viticultural and horticultural sciences.

Marconi Dias

Commercial and Marketing Director, Brazil

Marconi joined Plant Impact from Syngenta Proteção de Cultivos Ltda, the Brazilian and Latin American division of Syngenta AG. In his most recent Syngenta role he served as the Corn Marketing Manager for Latin America and had primary responsibility for expanding their corn seed trait platform throughout the region. He brings over 20 years of commercial experience in the Brazilian agrochemical and seed business, having held a variety of marketing and sales roles at ICI/Zeneca, Novartis and Syngenta.

Marconi is a trained agronomist, with an undergraduate degree from Universidade Federal de Goias and postgraduate degrees in Marketing from FAAP and INSEAD.

Romina Gueli

Commercial and Marketing Director, South Cone

Romina joins the company from Dow AgroSciences, where she was most recently the Sales Director for Argentina and the Southern Cone region. Prior to that, she held various senior product and business marketing roles for Dow, and had an early career at Zeneca and Syngenta. She is a trained agronomist and published academic, with a BA from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina (Buenos Aires), and an MS from the University of Missouri. She lives in Buenos Aires and brings a broad mix of skills and experience, including fluency in the English, Spanish and German languages.

Mike Eade, Commercial and Marketing Director, USA

Mike Eade

Commercial and Marketing Director, USA

Mike Eade joined Plant Impact from DuPont Pioneer, a division of DuPont and a global leader in seed technology and seed production.  At Pioneer he was most recently the Commercial Unit Lead in Sales and Marketing for the Delta Commercial Unit, an area with significant soybean, cotton and corn production. In addition, Mike has more than 30 years of sales and marketing leadership experience in animal health, agrochemicals, and crop insurance at industry leaders such as Merial, American Cyanamid and RCIS.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.

Patricia Bueno

Director, New Projects and Technologies

Patricia gained her degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Universidade Estadual Paulista, as well as a post-graduate degree in Marketing Management from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas and later in toxicology from the State University of Campinas, Unicamp, Brazil. She began her career working for the financial agricultural commodities market at BM&F (São Paulo Board of Trade). Then, after working for the Crop Protection Market, in 1998 at the American Company FMC for 5 years, she assumed the Regulatory and Product Stewardship LATAM role at Arysta Lifescience. Patricia worked as a consultant for three years during her stay in Germany and joined the Plant Impact team in 2012.

Simon Lees

Operations Director

Simon’s career to date features over 20 years of supply chain, formulation and manufacturing line management experience within the agrochemical sector. He has held senior roles with Syngenta in both the UK and Switzerland and with Arysta LifeScience in France. Prior to joining Plant Impact, he worked at Durlestone Ltd., an integrated Supply Chain advisory firm providing consulting and project management support to a number of industry sectors.

Simon is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and has an undergraduate degree in Engineering Science from Oxford University.
